What this projector delivers

The Vivitek D519 is a new DLP home-theatre projector with a native 1024 x 768 resolution and 3000 to 3500 lumens brightness. It includes built-in speakers and accepts HD 1080i signals via HDMI, VGA, composite and S-Video connections. A remote, power cable and HDMI cable are supplied in the box.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This unit suits viewers who need a portable 4:3 projector for presentations, legacy video sources or mixed-use rooms where medium-throw placement is convenient. Buyers who require a native widescreen panel for modern content should consider other models. The fixed native resolution also limits fine detail compared with higher-density panels.

The specification that decides fit

Native resolution is 1024 x 768 with a 4:3 aspect ratio, so the image shape matches older computer signals and standard-definition video rather than current widescreen formats. Brightness reaches 3000 to 3500 lumens and contrast is rated at 15000:1 for visible depth in darkened rooms.

Questions about this item

Will the 1024x768 native resolution and HDMI input work with my older AV receiver and DVD player?

The projector accepts HDMI and composite RCA inputs, so you can connect a legacy receiver or DVD player directly and display at its native 1024x768 resolution.

How can I verify the 3000 ANSI lumen brightness and 15000:1 contrast are performing correctly after setup?

Display a test pattern with a full-white screen and a high-contrast checkerboard; the image should appear bright at 3000 ANSI lumens and show deep blacks at 15000:1 contrast in a darkened room.

Does the bundle include the HDMI cable and remote, or do I need to buy them separately?

The bundle supplies a power cable, an HDMI cable and a remote control, so no additional cables or accessories are required for basic operation.
