Under-desk lockable drawers

The VIVO Black Under Desk Lockable Double Drawer Unit mounts beneath a desk at least 3/4 in thick and adds two steel drawers for documents, accessories and personal items. Each drawer extends 10 in on smooth slides and locks with a single key for security. The system weighs 13.5 lb empty and supports up to 11 lb of contents.

Thermals noise and power

Passive steel construction means no fans, no noise and no power draw during normal use. The only load on the desk is the combined 24.5 lb of unit plus contents, so the mounting surface must handle that weight.

Build integration

The unit occupies 13.1L x 14.3D x 10H inches overall with each drawer providing 9.6L x 12.6D x 2.3H inches of internal space. It sits 3.3 in below the desk underside, freeing the desktop surface while requiring a sturdy desk capable of carrying the total load.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the double drawer unit under my desk, and what is the common mistake to avoid?

Mount the unit to the underside of a desk that is at least 3/4 thick using the included brackets; the step people get wrong is forgetting to verify the desk can support 24.5 lbs total weight (13.5 lbs unit plus 11 lbs load capacity).

What maintenance or replacement will the lockable drawer system need over time?

The steel drawers and sliding mechanisms require no scheduled maintenance; only the two keys for the locking cylinder may need replacement if lost, as no other user-serviceable parts are specified.

What is the first limit I will hit when loading the drawers continuously during a workday?

Each drawer holds a maximum of 11 lbs, so the weight limit is reached before the 10-inch extension or the 9.6L x 12.6D x 2.3H interior volume fills completely.
