Compact Emergency Radio

The Vondior NOAA AM FM Weather Radio is a pocket-sized receiver that picks up AM, FM and NOAA weather bands. It runs on two AA batteries, so it works when mains power and mobile networks are down. The silver chassis measures 4.9 in by 3.12 in by 1.28 in and weighs 0.29 lb, making it easy to carry in a bag or pocket. A mono headphone socket allows private listening.

Suited for Off-Grid Listeners

This radio suits anyone who needs reliable weather alerts while camping, hiking or during prolonged power cuts. The simple analogue tuning requires no programming, so children or elderly users can operate it without help. Buyers who want rechargeable power, Bluetooth streaming or a water-resistant casing should consider other models because this unit lacks those features.

Two AA Battery Operation

The only power source is two standard AA cells, delivering 3 volts to the DSP receiver. There is no built-in charging circuit, solar panel or hand crank, so spare batteries must be carried for extended trips. If a self-charging or USB-rechargeable emergency radio is required, this is not the right part.

Questions about this item

How does the 108 MHz tuning limit affect which stations I can hear?

The tuner reaches 108 MHz, covering the full FM broadcast band and the NOAA weather channels that sit just above it, while AM reception remains available on the lower frequencies.

What does the 3-volt, two-AA-battery power supply mean for everyday use?

Two standard AA cells provide 3 volts, so the radio runs completely off-grid with no charger or adapter needed; swap fresh batteries when reception fades.

Will the 4.9 × 3.12 × 1.28 in case fit in a typical shirt pocket?

At roughly 4.9 inches tall and 1.28 inches deep, it slides into most shirt or jacket pockets and adds only 0.29 lb to your carry.
