Vortex Diamondback 12x50 Roof Prism Binoculars

These roof prism binoculars deliver 12x magnification through 50mm objective lenses. Fully multi-coated optics with dielectric coating increase light transmission for bright, color-accurate images. A magnesium chassis keeps weight down to 28.7 ounces while adding rigidity. Argon purging and O-ring seals make the unit waterproof and fogproof for reliable all-environment use.

Suited for long-range observation in changing

Hunters, birders, and outdoor enthusiasts who need 12x reach and a 271-foot field of view at 1000 yards will appreciate the 14mm eye relief and locking diopter. Buyers who want a wider field of view, lower magnification for steadier handheld use, or a more compact pack size should look at other configurations. The 4.1mm exit pupil also limits low-light performance compared to larger exit-pupil models.

12x magnification resolves distant detail

The 50mm objectives gather ample light for daytime and dusk viewing, while the 4.1mm exit pupil provides adequate brightness in normal conditions. Center focus and adjustable eyecups allow quick, precise tuning for individual eyesight. In very low light the smaller exit pupil becomes the limiting factor, and the 12x power amplifies hand tremor without a tripod adapter.

Questions about this item

What tripod adapter do I need for the Diamondback 12x50?

The binoculars are tripod adaptable; a standard 1/4-20 thread adapter attaches to the front hinge for stable mounting on any tripod.

Will the 14 mm eye relief work with my prescription glasses?

Yes, the 14 mm eye relief and twist-up eyecups provide full field of view for most eyeglass wearers.

How do I verify the optics are aligned after setting the diopter?

Focus with the center wheel, lock the right-eye diopter, then view a distant edge — sharp, single-image detail confirms correct collimation.
