Universal 12V Power Adapter

The VOVOV 12V 3A AC adapter supplies up to 36W for devices that accept a 5.5mm x 2.5mm or 2.1mm barrel plug with centre-positive polarity. It replaces lost or damaged chargers for routers, LED strips, security cameras, digital pianos and similar 12V equipment. The unit auto-ranges across 100-240V mains at 50/60Hz for worldwide use.

Compact Desktop Build

A moulded black enclosure houses the circuitry and terminates in a fixed DC cable ending in the 5.5mm x 2.5mm plug, which also fits 2.1mm sockets. The plug polarity is inner positive and outer negative, matching the majority of 12V peripherals. No detachable leads or extra tips are included, so the single cable length determines placement.

Efficient Cooling and Load

Passive convection cooling keeps the adapter silent during operation. Continuous loads up to 36W are supported, though the manufacturer suggests staying below 80% of maximum for extended sessions to preserve longevity. The supply steps down to lower current draws such as 2.5A, 2A, 1.5A, 1A or 500mA automatically as the connected device requires.

Questions about this item

What input voltage and frequency range does the 12 V 3 A adapter accept?

The unit accepts AC 100 V to 240 V at 50 Hz or 60 Hz, so it works on mains supplies worldwide without a separate voltage selector.

What DC plug sizes are supported by the 5.5 mm × 2.5 mm connector?

The barrel plug measures 5.5 mm outer diameter by 2.5 mm inner diameter and is also compatible with 5.5 mm × 2.1 mm sockets found on many routers, LED strips and CCTV cameras.

How do I confirm the polarity before plugging the adapter into my device?

Check the label on your device: the adapter tip is inner positive and outer negative, so the device must show the same centre-positive symbol or it will not operate correctly.
