Compatible MacBook Pro models

This 85W T-Tip AC adapter replaces the original charger for 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro Retina models released between 2012 and 2017. It matches Apple part numbers including A1398, A1425, A1424 and A1502. The connector fits the T-shaped MagSafe port used on those machines.

Input and output specifications

The unit accepts AC input from 100 to 240V at 50 or 60Hz and delivers a steady DC output of 18.5V at 4.6A. An integrated LED shows amber while the battery is charging and turns green once a full charge is reached. No additional cables or converters are required for standard wall outlets.

Sustained charging behaviour

Under continuous load the adapter maintains its rated 85W output without throttling, keeping the notebook powered and the battery replenished during long work sessions. The second-generation T-tip design provides a secure magnetic connection that resists accidental disconnects. It is not suited for USB-C MacBook models or devices requiring higher wattage.
