Pocket Radio for Active Listeners

The VR-robot VR-HRD-MJX is a credit-card-sized AM/FM receiver weighing 45 grams. It has no built-in speaker so private listening via the included 3.5 mm earphones is required. The tuner covers 64-108 MHz FM and 520/522-1710 kHz AM with selectable 9/10 kHz steps and stores up to 58 preset stations.

Battery Life and Silent Operation

A built-in 500 mAh rechargeable cell powers the unit for extended sessions without disposable cells. The lock switch prevents accidental button presses while the radio sits in a pocket or bag. With no speaker and no moving parts the device runs completely silent during use.

Upgrade from Bulky Portables

This model replaces larger handheld radios that need AA batteries and cannot be clipped to a waistband. The jump is worth it when you want a station-storing tuner that disappears into a gym shorts pocket or a dog-walk lanyard. It is not for buyers who want a built-in speaker or Bluetooth streaming.

Questions about this item

How do I save a station to the 58 presets on the VR-HRD-MJX?

Tune to the station, press MEMO once so the memory icon flashes, then press MEMO again before it stops flashing to store it in the displayed slot.

What battery maintenance will the 500mAh cell need over time?

The built-in 500mAh battery is rechargeable via USB; when it no longer holds a charge, the unit must be replaced because the cell is not user-replaceable.

What limits listening time during a long hike with the VR-HRD-MJX?

The 500mAh battery capacity is the first limit; after it is depleted the radio stops until recharged via USB.
