USB-to-Ethernet adapter for wired networking

The Vszerda 20254 adapter adds a 10/100 Mbps RJ45 port to devices that lack built-in Ethernet. It targets laptop users, Chromebook owners and Nintendo Switch or Switch OLED players who want a steadier connection than Wi-Fi provides. The AX88772D chip handles the USB-to-Ethernet conversion and the unit weighs 40 grams.

Driver-free setup on modern systems

Windows 11, 10, 8.1 and 8 plus macOS and Chrome OS recognise the adapter without extra software. Windows XP, 7, Vista and Linux require a driver install using the supplied instructions. No bundled utility or configuration tool is mentioned, so the only change is the presence of a wired link where there was none.

Check for a free USB-A port and Wii exclusion

Verify the host has an available USB-A socket; the adapter does not work with any Wii, Wii U, Wii Family Edition or Wii Mini console. No power-supply wattage, cable length or maximum segment distance is specified, so confirm those details against your own environment before ordering.

Questions about this item

Does the AX88772D chip require any driver maintenance on Windows 11 or macOS?

The adapter is plug and play on Windows 11 and macOS with no driver installation needed, so no ongoing driver maintenance is required on those systems.

Will the 100 Mbps limit bottleneck gigabit internet plans during sustained downloads?

Yes, the adapter tops out at 100 Mbps, so any internet plan faster than that will be limited by the dongle during long transfers.

Does the 40 g dongle get hot or draw noticeable power when used all day?

The lightweight 40 g design has no fan and draws minimal bus power, so it runs cool and adds negligible load during continuous use.
