Two-in-one HDMI 2.0 switch with audio extraction
This Vszerda unit combines a 2x1 HDMI 2.0 switch with an audio extractor for setups that need to route two sources to one display while sending sound to a separate audio system. It handles 4K at 60 Hz with HDCP 2.3 and passes 10-bit HDR video. The switch is suited for consoles, streaming boxes or PCs where the display lacks audio outputs or the receiver lacks HDMI 2.0 inputs.
Passive operation keeps thermals and noise absent
The device draws power from the HDMI sources and an included USB power cable, so it adds no fan noise or measurable heat to a rack. Typical draw is well under 10 watts and the enclosure stays at room temperature during continuous 4K 60 Hz playback. No active cooling is required and the unit is silent in normal use.
Four-mode audio toggle and multiple output ports
A 4-position switch selects PCM 2.0, 5.1, 7.1 or pass-through formats including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Extracted audio is available simultaneously on optical Toslink, coaxial, 3.5 mm jack and the HDMI ARC/eARC port. This lets older AV receivers, soundbars or powered speakers work with modern 4K sources without firmware updates or extra converters.

Questions about this item
How do I connect the two HDMI sources and select between them?
Connect each source to the two HDMI inputs, link the HDMI output to your display, then press the front toggle to switch between inputs. The step often missed is matching the 4-speed audio-format switch — TV, 2.0, 5.1 or 7.1 — to your sound system before powering on.
Will the optical Toslink or coaxial ports wear out and need replacement?
The Toslink and coaxial connectors are passive and have no moving parts, so they do not wear out under normal use. Only the mechanical input selector button and the 3.5 mm jack see repeated physical contact and may eventually need attention.
At what resolution and refresh rate does the extractor stop passing HDR video?
The unit is rated for 4K at 60 Hz with 10-bit HDR and HDCP 2.3. Pushing beyond 60 Hz or using an unsupported colour space will cause the video path to drop out first.
