This aluminium enclosure accepts M.2 NVMe drives up to 8TB and connects through a USB Type-C port that supports Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3 and USB4. It is built for professionals who need fast external storage on Windows, macOS, Linux or Android devices. The compact design measures 4.8 by 2.6 by 1.06 inches and requires no separate power supply.

Speed ceiling set by host and cable

The ASM2464PD controller can deliver up to 3600MB/s, yet that rate only appears when a Thunderbolt 4 cable and a Thunderbolt 4 host are both present. On USB 3.2, USB 3.1 or USB 3.0 hosts the throughput drops to the limits of those standards, and USB 2.0 hosts restrict it further. The enclosure itself does not boost performance beyond what the link provides.

NVMe-only M.2 slot excludes SATA drives

The M-key slot fits 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 length NVMe SSDs but will not recognise SATA NGFF or mSATA modules. Buyers who already own SATA-based M.2 drives cannot use them in this enclosure.
