This Vszerda expansion card adds eight SATA III 6 Gbps ports to a desktop, server or NAS through a single PCIe 3.0 x1 slot. It uses dual ASMedia ASM1064 controllers for non-RAID AHCI operation. A low-profile bracket is included for small-form-factor chassis.

Bandwidth limited to one PCIe 3.0 lane

The card connects through a PCIe 3.0 x1 link that provides 8 Gbps of total upstream bandwidth. Eight SATA III ports each support 6 Gbps, so simultaneous full-speed transfers from multiple drives will saturate the single lane.

Eight drives at SATA III speed with AHCI boot

Each port runs at 6.0, 3.0 or 1.5 Gbps and supports hot-plug, hot-swap, NCQ and port multipliers. The AHCI 1.3 implementation allows boot from any attached drive. Builders needing hardware RAID or more than eight ports must choose a different controller.
