Active DisplayPort-to-HDMI cable delivers 4K at 60 Hz, 2K at 144 Hz and HDR over 2.5 m with gold-plated connectors and a braided jacket
This 8 ft active cable converts a DisplayPort source on a computer or graphics card to an HDMI input on a monitor, HDTV or projector. It carries both audio and video in a single male-to-male connection. The aluminium shell and braided jacket protect the gold-plated connectors during daily use. It is not suitable for users who need the opposite signal direction from HDMI to DisplayPort.
The active circuitry maintains a stable 4K signal at 60 Hz across the full 2.5 m length without drop-outs. It also delivers 2K at 144 Hz and 1080p at 144 Hz for smoother motion during extended sessions. HDR metadata passes through when both source and display support it. The link remains reliable for multi-display Eyefinity configurations over long periods.
The cable tops out at 18 Gbps, capping 4K output at 60 Hz and preventing higher refresh rates at that resolution. HDCP 2.2 and 1.4 are supported for protected streaming content, but devices lacking HDCP will block playback. Colour depth up to 12-bit and pixel formats including RGB 4:4:4 are available within the bandwidth budget. Users needing 4K above 60 Hz must choose a different interface.

Yes, the gold-plated DP plug goes into a DP 1.4 / DP++ port on the GPU or laptop and the HDMI plug goes into any HDMI display.
The cable is backward compatible and will transmit 1080P@144Hz with HDCP 1.4, but HDR requires both source and display to support it.
