8-Port RCA Composite AV Switch

The Vszerda AV Switch 8 Port RCA Composite Audio Video Selector routes eight composite sources to a single television or display. It is built for households, hotels, karaoke venues, schools or factories that need to share one screen among multiple VCD, DVD or similar analogue players without re-cabling.

Bandwidth limits of composite switching

Video bandwidth is rated from 50 Hz to 5.5 MHz with input levels of .8-1.0 Vp-p at 75 ohms and output levels of .8-1.4 Vp-p at 75 ohms. Audio bandwidth covers 10 Hz to 20 kHz at 0 dB with 2 V RMS input at 45 ohms and 2 V RMS output at 1 k ohm. The passive design requires no external power supply.

Mechanical button selection on a metal chassis

Front-panel push buttons select the active source; the all-metal enclosure provides shielding and durability. The unit measures 21.7 x 7.8 x 3.6 cm and weighs approximately 412.3 g. Questions about this item

Should I pick the 8-port model or a smaller switch for my setup?

The 8-port version handles eight composite sources into one TV; choose it only if you regularly connect that many VCRs, consoles or players.

What does the 1024x768@85Hz figure mean for my composite devices?

It is the maximum bandwidth rating of the internal video path; standard composite sources run far below that, so the switch will pass them without added loss.

How does the RCA composite interface limit the signal in practice?

Composite video is capped at roughly 5.5 MHz bandwidth and stereo audio at 20 kHz, so the switch passes the full quality the format allows.
