Purpose & Audience

The Vszerda CX25 is a passive adapter that lets you connect a SATA-based M.2 SSD to a standard 22-pin SATA port. It is aimed at builders who want to reuse an existing SATA M.2 drive in a desktop or enclosure that only offers a regular SATA connection.

Build Integration

The card requires no driver and draws power directly from the SATA connector, so it adds no extra cables or software steps. It accepts M.2 modules in 3 cm, 4.2 cm, 6 cm and 8 cm lengths, freeing you from hunting for a specific form factor. The adapter does not support NVME drives, so the slot must be populated with a SATA-keyed module.

Capacity & Headroom

The interface passes through the native SATA 6 Gbit/s link, with real-world throughput capped at 300 MB/s. That headroom is sufficient for typical SATA SSD workloads such as OS boots, application storage and bulk file transfers. It will not accelerate a drive beyond its own SATA limit, and it cannot be used with NVME devices at any speed.
