Uni-directional DP-to-HDMI link

The built-in converter chip handles the signal translation in one direction only, so it cannot be used to drive a DisplayPort monitor from an HDMI output. Resolution and refresh ceiling

The adapter tops out at 3840×2160 at 30 Hz, which is suitable for office work, media playback and static content. At 1920×1080 the link supports 120 Hz, giving smoother motion for less demanding titles. Lower modes such as 1600×1200 or 1280×1024 are also passed through without scaling artefacts. Bandwidth above the 4K 30 Hz limit is not available on this cable.

Practical headroom and limits

Multi-channel audio up to 7.1 passes through cleanly alongside the video stream. The 10 ft length reaches across a typical desk or presentation setup without signal degradation. Users needing 4K at 60 Hz, HDR or a reverse HDMI-to-DisplayPort path will require a different active adapter. This cable is built for straightforward DP-to-HDMI extension where the stated refresh limits are acceptable.
