HDMI to Composite Video Converter

The Vszerda adapter translates a digital HDMI source into an analogue CVBS composite signal with stereo audio, outputting standard-definition 480i or 576i for NTSC and PAL displays. It accepts HDMI input resolutions up to 1920x1080 at 60 Hz and downscales them for legacy equipment such as VHS VCRs, DVD recorders or older televisions. A USB charging cable is included for power.

Output Limited to Standard Definition

The converter only produces composite video at 480i or 576i, so any high-definition detail from the source is lost during conversion. Supported input timings include 640x480, 1280x720 and 1920x1080 at 60 Hz, plus 720p and 1080i at 50 or 60 Hz, but the three RCA sockets cannot carry progressive or high-resolution signals. Colour encoding is restricted to PAL, NTSC_M and NTSC_J standards.

Check Source Resolution and Display Compatibility

Verify that your HDMI source can output one of the listed resolutions such as 1280x720 or 1920x1080 at 60 Hz, because unsupported timings will not appear on the composite output. Ensure the target display or recorder accepts composite CVBS input via yellow, white and red RCA connectors and matches the PAL or NTSC region setting. The unit measures 67x55x20 mm and weighs 37 g.

Questions about this item

Black or white — which colour should I pick?

Both colours share the same 67 x 55 x 20 mm size and 37 g weight, so choose the one that matches your other cables or equipment.

The box says 1080p input but the output is CVBS — what resolution will I actually see on my old TV?

The converter downscales every supported input, including 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz, to standard-definition 480i or 576i composite video for the RCA output.

My source only has HDMI — will this adapter work straight into the three RCA sockets on my VCR?

Yes, the single HDMI input carries both video and stereo audio, and the three RCA plugs (yellow, white, red) deliver composite video plus left and right audio directly.
