Two-computer DisplayPort KVM with four USB 3.0 ports

The Vszerda KC-201DP lets two PCs share one DisplayPort monitor, a keyboard, a mouse and up to four USB 3.0 peripherals. Switching is handled by a 1.5 m wired remote or the front push button. No driver software is required and LED indicators show the active system. The metal housing measures 3.9 in x 2.55 in x 0.78 in and weighs 0.381 kilograms.

DisplayPort 1.4 bandwidth limits resolution

The switch passes DisplayPort 1.4 signals, so the maximum supported timing is 4K at 144 Hz or 1920 x 1080 at 165 Hz. Both computers, the monitor and every cable must support the chosen mode simultaneously. Using 8K-rated cables can eliminate flicker or black-screen issues caused by marginal signal quality. The unit operates from a 5 V DC supply and includes ESD protection.

Bluetooth peripherals are not supported on the USB

The four downstream USB 3.0 ports securely identify standard keyboards, mice, printers, scanners and webcams, but Bluetooth mice and other Bluetooth devices will not function through the switch. Buyers who need wireless peripheral sharing should look for a KVM that explicitly supports Bluetooth forwarding.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 2-computer version or a larger KVM for more PCs?

This model only handles two computers; if you need to share one monitor and four USB devices across more than two PCs you would need a different switch.

What does the 4K@144Hz rating actually deliver on my screen?

The switch passes DisplayPort 1.4 signals up to 4K at 144 Hz and 1920×1080 at 165 Hz, provided your computer, monitor and cables all support those modes.

Which DisplayPort version does the KC-201DP use and what bandwidth limit does that impose?

It uses DisplayPort 1.4, which caps the link at the standard 1.4 throughput so 4K@144Hz and 1080p@165Hz are the highest supported formats.
