Vszerda M.2 Key B Adapter

This adapter converts an M.2 Key B slot to a Mini PCIe interface, allowing 3G, 4G and 5G modules to be installed in systems that only provide the smaller M.2 socket. It acts as a passive riser for CDMA, WLAN, WWLAN, WiMAX and LTE cards. The part is supplied new and requires no active components to operate.

Not for Key M or Key E slots

Builders who need to install M.2 Key M or Key E devices should look elsewhere, as the pinout and keying are incompatible with those standards. The adapter also does not support proprietary module formats that fall outside the listed cellular and wireless standards.

Questions about this item

Do I need a motherboard with an M.2 Key B slot to use this adapter?

Yes, the adapter plugs into an M.2 Key B (NGFF) slot; your board must expose that keying for the adapter to seat and make electrical contact.

Will a legacy Mini PCIe 3G or 4G module work at full speed when installed in this adapter?

The adapter passes the Mini PCIe signals through to the M.2 Key B interface, so a 3G or 4G module will operate at the speeds its own PCIe or USB 2.0 interface allows.
