MiniSAS SFF-8087 Breakout Cable
This new Vszerda cable splits a single internal MiniSAS SFF-8087 host port into four SATA 6Gbps device connections. It is built for servers, RAID controllers and storage enclosures that use a 36-pin SFF-8087 interface to attach SATA drives or backplanes.
Suits direct-attached SATA drives.
The cable works when the controller or motherboard provides the MiniSAS SFF-8087 host side and the targets are SATA drives or a SATA backplane. It will not suit builds where the host connector is SATA and the target requires a MiniSAS plug, nor configurations that need an external MiniSAS interface.
0.8 m length with 100 Ohm impedance
Each of the four channels supports up to 6 Gbps across a 100 Ohm differential pair. The 0.8 metre ribbon assembly uses acetate cloth tape and a woven mesh sheath for strain relief and easier routing inside a chassis.

Questions about this item
What host connector must my RAID controller or motherboard provide for this cable to work?
The cable requires a 36-pin SFF-8087 port on the host side to connect to a RAID controller or motherboard.
Will the 6 Gbps channels on this cable still operate correctly with older 3 Gbps SATA drives I plan to keep?
Yes, each 6 Gbps channel is backward compatible and will negotiate down to 3 Gbps with older SATA drives.
How can I verify each drive is linked at the correct speed after I connect the four SATA ends?
Check the RAID controller BIOS or OS disk utility; each of the four P1–P4 lanes should report a 6 Gbps link when a 6 Gbps drive is attached.
