PCIe 4x to 16x riser adapter
This Vszerda adapter converts a PCIe x4 slot into a physical x16 connector. It uses a layered PCB design to route the signals from the smaller slot to the larger receptacle. The board accepts x4, x8 and x16 expansion cards but operates them at x4 electrical speed. It is intended for builders who need to mount a longer card in a shorter slot.
Suited for x4-limited slots only
The adapter works when the host platform provides a PCIe x4 connection and the installed card fits the x16 form factor. It does not increase bandwidth beyond the four lanes supplied by the motherboard. Builders who need full x8 or x16 throughput for their expansion card should not use this riser.
Maximum electrical width is four lanes
The single specification that decides compatibility is the x4 electrical link. Any card installed will negotiate at x4 speed regardless of its physical edge-connector width. If the application requires more than four lanes of bandwidth, this adapter cannot meet that requirement.

Questions about this item
Should I choose this riser for a PCIe 4x, 8x or 16x card?
It fits 4x, 8x and 16x cards but only delivers 4x speed to any of them.
What does the 4x to 16x label mean once the card is installed?
The slot accepts a 16x card mechanically while the link runs at 4x bandwidth.
Which PCIe interface standard does the adapter use and what does it limit?
The adapter uses a PCIe 4x link, capping throughput to four lanes.
