Two-port USB 3.2 Gen 1 expansion
This PCI Express card adds two external USB Type-A ports to a desktop computer. It uses the Renesas UPD720201 chipset and connects through any available PCI-E slot. The card is designed for users who need more USB 3.0 connections for peripherals such as keyboards, mice, external drives, webcams and printers.
20-pin header and SATA power
A 20-pin front-panel header lets you bring USB 3.0 connectivity to a case front panel that has a 19-pin connector. The onboard 15-pin SATA power connector supplies up to 5 V 2 A per port, supporting higher-current devices without loading the motherboard. Windows 10 and 8 work without extra drivers; Windows 7, Vista and XP require the supplied driver.
5 Gbps peak throughput
The controller follows the USB 3.2 Gen 1 specification with a maximum signalling rate of 5 Gbps, also running at 480, 12 and 1.5 Mbit/s for older devices. Actual speed depends on the attached peripheral and cable quality. The card fits standard PCI-E sockets but does not add internal storage or networking capability.

Questions about this item
Will the Renesas UPD720201 chipset need a driver update down the line?
Windows 10 and 8 include native support; Windows 7, Vista and XP require the supplied driver CD.
What caps the 5 Gbps throughput during long transfers?
The connected USB device’s own speed limit determines the real-world rate.
Does the 15-pin SATA power connector add noticeable heat or noise?
The card has no fan; power draw stays within the PCI-E slot and SATA supply, so heat and noise remain minimal.
