U.2 Host Adapter for Intel 750 SSD
This PCIe 3.0 x4 adapter adds a single SFF-8639 U.2 port to a desktop system. It is designed specifically for the 2.5 Intel 750 Series NVMe SSD. The card provides a direct form conversion without altering drive speed or properties. It operates transparently to the operating system and requires no additional software drivers.
Motherboard Compatibility and Power Requirements
Verify that your motherboard is an Intel 9 series or newer chipset; older Intel and AMD chipsets do not support NVMe SSDs with this adapter. Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 require a specific update (KB2990941) for native NVMe driver support. Note that the onboard SATA 22pin connector supplies power only and carries no data.
Build Integration and Limitations
The adapter occupies one PCIe x4 slot and connects the U.2 drive via the included cable. It frees the M.2 slot for other uses while enabling high-performance NVMe storage on compatible platforms. This kit is not suitable for systems lacking an Intel 9 series or newer motherboard, nor for builders needing SATA data connectivity through the 22pin header.

Questions about this item
Does the kit include the NVMe SSD or do I need to buy it separately?
The kit is an adapter only; the Intel 750 Series NVMe SSD or any compatible M-key NVMe drive must be purchased separately.
Which motherboards are compatible with this PCIe 3.0 x4 to U.2 adapter?
Intel 9-series or newer motherboards are required; earlier Intel chipsets and AMD chipsets do not support NVMe SSD boot or operation.
What does the SATA 22-pin connector on the card actually do?
The 22-pin SATA connector supplies power to the U.2 drive only; it carries no data, so the drive communicates solely through the PCIe 3.0 x4 link.
