Two-port SATA 6 Gbps expansion
This Vszerda card adds two SATA 3.0 ports through a single PCIe x1 slot. It suits builders who need extra drive connections on a board with limited headers. The ASM1061 controller handles AHCI 1.0 and IDE modes for broad OS support. Windows XP through 10, Linux and Mac are all covered.
Sustained transfer at 6 Gbps
The controller negotiates 6.0, 3.0 or 1.5 Gbps links depending on the attached drive. Backward compatibility with SATA 2.0 and 1.0 means older disks keep working at their rated speed. Hot-swap support lets you change drives without powering down. PCIe v2.0 x1 bandwidth keeps the pipe full during long copies.
Low-profile bracket for flexible mounting
A low-profile bracket is included so the card fits slim cases as well as full-height chassis. Two standard SATA ports face the rear for straight cable runs. No external power connector is required on the card itself. The x1 edge connector also seats in x4, x8 or x16 slots if the x1 slot is occupied.

Questions about this item
Does the ASM1061 chip on this card run hot when both SATA ports are active all day?
The ASM1061 controller is a low-power design and the card has no fan, so it stays cool under continuous two-drive workloads.
What must my motherboard provide for this card to function?
An available PCI-Express x1 slot is required; the card also fits x2, x4, x8 or x16 slots.
Will my older SATA 1.5 Gbps hard drives work at full speed on the 6.0 Gbps ports?
Yes, the card is backward compatible with SATA 1.0 and 2.0, so legacy drives operate at their native 1.5 or 3.0 Gbps rates.
