PCIe 3.0 x4 Adapter for 2U Servers
This Vszerda adapter converts a single M.2 M-key slot into a PCIe 3.0 x4, x8 or x16 compatible interface. It is designed for 2U height server chassis where internal M.2 mounting points are absent. The card accepts NVMe or AHCI protocol SSDs in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 form factors.
Sustained Load Behaviour
Blue silicon wafers on both sides of the PCB provide thermal conductivity for the installed drive during extended operation. Multi-layer PCBA construction adds structural rigidity and electrical shielding under continuous data transfer. The adapter contains no active cooling, so airflow within the 2U chassis determines peak temperature limits.
Interface Limits
The card passes through a PCIe 3.0 x4 electrical connection regardless of the physical slot width used. It does not support any M.2 SATA-based SSDs or mSATA drives, restricting use to PCIe-based NVMe or AHCI devices only. Bandwidth is capped by the 3.0 x4 link and the host platform's lane allocation.

Questions about this item
Does the adapter generate noticeable heat or noise when an NVMe SSD runs continuously in a 2U server?
The card uses multi-layer PCBA and blue silicon wafers on both sides of the drive for heat dissipation; it has no fan, so it adds no audible noise.
What motherboard slot is required to install this Vszerda adapter?
A free PCIe 3.0 x4, x8 or x16 slot is needed; the adapter converts one M-key M.2 interface to that PCIe lane width.
Will a 2280 NVMe drive on this adapter work alongside an older SATA SSD in the same system?
Yes — the adapter only handles PCIe-based NVMe or AHCI M.2 drives (2230, 2242, 2260, 2280) and does not interfere with separate SATA storage devices.
