Adds seven USB 3.0 ports via a PCIe x1 slot with Molex power and UASP support
This PCIe expansion card adds seven USB 3.0 ports to a desktop computer using a single PCI Express x1 slot. It targets users who need more high-speed ports for peripherals such as external drives, cameras or input devices. The card draws supplementary power from a standard 4-pin Molex connector on the power supply. No driver installation is required for Windows 8 or Windows 10.
Each port delivers up to 5 V at 1 A and supports transfer rates of 5 Gbps, 480 Mbps and 12 Mbps for USB 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1 devices respectively. The NEC host controller handles UASP for improved throughput with compatible storage. Total bandwidth is shared across the PCIe 2.0 x1 link, so simultaneous heavy transfers on multiple ports will hit the bus limit.
A driver disc is supplied for older operating systems such as Windows XP, Vista and 7 where native support is absent. Two screws and a user manual complete the package for physical installation. The disc does not add new features on Windows 8.1 or 10 because the OS already includes the necessary drivers.

The card uses a PCIe 2.0 x1 interface, which supports the USB 3.0 5Gbps transfer rate on compatible motherboards.
Connect a USB device to each port and verify it powers on; the card draws auxiliary power from the 4-pin Molex connector to supply 5VDC 1A per port.
The package contains the adapter card, a driver CD, a user manual, and two mounting screws; a Molex power cable is not included and must be sourced from your power supply.
