Gigabit PCIe NIC with RTL8111H Chip

This single-port Gigabit Ethernet card uses the Realtek RTL8111H controller and connects through a PCIe v2.1 x1 lane. It auto-negotiates at 10, 100, or 1000 Mb/s and fits x1, x4, x8, or x16 slots. Both full-height and low-profile brackets are included for standard or slim chassis.

Desktop and server owners adding a wired 1G link

The card supports Windows from 2000 through 11, Windows Server 2003, 2008 R2, and 2012, Linux kernels 2.4.x to 3.5, and Intel-based Mac OS 10.x up to 10.9. It does not work with VMware and lacks PXE boot support, so administrators needing network boot or hypervisor passthrough should look elsewhere.

Check for a free PCIe slot and driver access

Verify the motherboard has an open PCIe slot of any width and that the bracket style matches the case. Wake-on-LAN and jumbo frames up to 9K bytes are available once the driver is installed. A QR code on the board links to the driver download for quick setup.

Questions about this item

Does this card need a free PCIe x1 slot on my motherboard?

Yes, it uses a single PCIe 2.1 x1 lane and fits x1, x4, x8 or x16 slots.

Will the Realtek RTL8111H controller negotiate speed with my older 100 Mb/s switch?

Auto-negotiation covers 10, 100 and 1000 Mb/s, so it will link at the switch's maximum rate.

How can I confirm the adapter is running at gigabit speed after installing the driver?

Check the link speed in your OS network status or the switch port LEDs; both should show 1000 Mb/s.
