SCART adapter for retro AV gear
This Vszerda adapter connects legacy equipment using SCART, RCA and S-Video sockets. The switchable design lets you choose signal direction for each session. Two units are included so you can link multiple devices or keep a spare.
Passive analogue signal path
The adapter uses nickel-plated contacts and a PVC jacket to carry composite video, S-Video and stereo audio without active circuitry. No external power is required and the passive design adds no audible noise or measurable power draw.
21-pin SCART with bi-directional switch
The 21-pin SCART interface handles CVBS and interlaced RGB video plus stereo audio. The In/Out toggle selects whether the SCART side acts as input or output, determining which conversions are possible.

Questions about this item
How do I set the SCART 21-pin adapter to send video from my DVD player to the TV instead of the other way around?
Slide the In/Out switch on the adapter to the Output position so the SCART male plug sends the composite or S-Video signal to the television's SCART socket.
Which parts of this adapter are most likely to wear out after repeated plugging and unplugging?
The nickel-plated pins on the SCART male, SCART female, three RCA females and the 4-pin S-Video female can loosen over time; the PVC body and copper conductors remain stable.
What signal degradation appears first when I run a long composite video cable through this adapter?
The composite CVBS video signal loses clarity and colour accuracy before the stereo audio channels show any noticeable noise.
