Two-Port SFF-8643 Adapter for PCIe 4.0 x8
This Vszerda SF02 card converts a single PCIe 4.0 x8 slot into two SFF-8643 Mini-SAS HD ports. It enables the connection of up to two U.2 SSDs to a desktop PC or server that lacks native U.2 support. The adapter is backward compatible with PCIe 3.0, 2.0 and 1.0 slots. A separate SFF-8643 to SFF-8639 cable is required for each drive.
Suits systems with PCIe bifurcation.
The card requires a motherboard that supports PCIe bifurcation to address both ports. Without bifurcation, only the first port will be recognised by the system. It is intended for builders adding U.2 storage to workstations or servers running Windows 11, 10, 8, Linux or macOS. Buyers who need more than two U.2 connections or whose platform cannot split an x8 lane should look at other solutions.
Check slot width, bifurcation support
Verify that your motherboard has a free PCIe 4.0 x8 slot and that its BIOS or UEFI offers bifurcation options such as x4+x4. Confirm the operating system is among the supported versions for plug-and-play operation. Remember to order one SFF-8643 to SFF-8639 cable for each U.2 SSD you plan to install.

Questions about this item
Does this adapter need a motherboard with PCIe bifurcation to use both SFF-8643 ports?
Yes, the card does not perform bifurcation itself; the motherboard must split the PCIe 4.0 x8 link so each port receives a PCIe 4.0 x4 connection, otherwise only the first port is detected.
Can I connect U.2 drives to this card using my existing SFF-8643 to SFF-8639 cables?
The adapter provides two SFF-8643 ports, so standard SFF-8643 to SFF-8639 cables will carry the PCIe 4.0 x4 links to U.2 SSDs; the cables are sold separately.
How can I verify both ports are running at PCIe 4.0 x4 after installation?
In the OS disk utility each U.2 SSD should appear as a separate PCIe 4.0 x4 device and achieve sequential throughput consistent with a four-lane Gen 4 link.
