SFF-8611 Oculink to U.2/U.3 adapter
This adapter converts an SFF-8611 Oculink female port to an SFF-8639 U.2/U.3 female connector with SATA power. It allows a single NVMe SSD to be connected via an optional cable using the OCuLink SFF-8612 interface. The unit is transparent to the operating system and requires no software drivers.
Check host port and drive compatibility
Verify that the mainboard or controller provides an SFF-8611 Oculink female port with PCIe 4.0 or 5.0 signalling. Ensure the target SSD uses the U.2 or U.3 form factor and supports NVMe 1.2. Confirm a spare SATA power connector is available for the adapter's power input.
Sustained throughput at 64Gbps
The adapter passes PCIe 4.0 and 5.0 signals without alteration, maintaining up to 64Gbps bandwidth during continuous workloads. No active components are present to throttle performance or add latency. Signal integrity depends on cable quality and host controller implementation under prolonged heavy I/O.

Questions about this item
Does the adapter include the OCuLink cable needed to reach my SSD?
The box contains only the adapter board with its SFF-8612 female and SFF-8639 female ports plus a SATA power connector; an OCuLink cable must be purchased separately.
When should I choose this SFF-8611 model instead of a straight U.2-to-U.2 cable?
Choose this adapter when the host or backplane provides an SFF-8612 OCuLink port and you need to attach a U.2 or U.3 NVME drive that uses the SFF-8639 connector.
What does the 64Gbps figure mean once the adapter is installed in my server?
It indicates the adapter passes PCI Express 4.0 and 5.0 signals at up to 64Gbps without altering speed or protocol, so the drive runs at the host's native NVME 1.2 performance.
