SlimSAS 8i cable for dense storage chassis
The Vszerda SlimSAS 8i SFF-8654 cable connects storage drives to a host system in space-constrained chassis environments. Its compact design uses 24 AWG stranded copper with a drain wire for EMI/RFI protection. The cable supports tri-mode SAS, SATA and NVMe protocols across eight lanes. It is built to comply with SAS 4x cable requirements for reliable operation.
12 Gbps per lane with eight lanes of bandwidth
Each of the eight lanes delivers up to 12 Gbps, providing headroom for high-throughput SSD arrays. The 1 metre length suits typical intra-chassis routing between backplanes and controllers. Runs longer than 15 metres are not covered by this product line. Bandwidth scales with the slowest connected device, so legacy SATA drives will not saturate the link.
SFF-8654 to dual SFF-8643 connector pinout
This assembly terminates in one SFF-8654 connector and two SFF-8643 Mini SAS connectors, all female-to-female. The 36-contact interface maps directly to the dual 8643 ports without active conversion. Buyers needing a single 8643 endpoint or an 8644-to-8643 breakout should select a different cable.

Questions about this item
Will the SFF-8654 end plug into my existing SFF-8643 backplane without an adapter?
No, the SFF-8654 connector is physically different from SFF-8643; this cable bridges the two standards with an SFF-8654 plug on one side and two SFF-8643 receptacles on the other.
How can I verify the 12 Gbps link is active after connecting the cable?
Check the host controller BIOS or OS utility; it should report a negotiated 12 Gbps link on each of the eight lanes for SAS, SATA or NVMe drives.
Does the 1 metre package include any drive trays, brackets or mounting screws?
Only the cable assembly is supplied — two SFF-8643 connectors on one end, one SFF-8654 on the other, with 24 AWG copper and drain wire; no trays or screws are included.
