U.2 SFF-8639 Host Adapter

This Vszerda add-in card adds a single SFF-8639 port to a desktop PC through a PCI Express 3.0 x4 slot. It provides a direct form-factor conversion for compatible NVMe solid-state drives without altering signal speed. The compact black bracket measures 3.94 by 3.94 by 0.39 inches and weighs 0.05 kilograms.

Suits Intel 9-series or newer motherboards.

The adapter works with Intel platforms from the 9 series upward that support NVMe boot and operation. Builders using AMD chipsets or older Intel motherboards cannot use this card for NVMe SSDs. It targets users adding a 2.5-inch U.2 drive such as the Intel 750 series to a compatible desktop system.

Requires PCIe 3.0 x4 slot

The card occupies one PCI Express 3.0 x4 lane and passes the NVMe protocol through to the SFF-8639 connector unchanged. Compatibility is limited to Intel motherboards from the 9 series or newer; AMD platforms are not supported. Verify the motherboard generation before purchase.

Questions about this item

What motherboard generation do I need to run this U.2 adapter with an Intel 750 NVMe SSD?

An Intel 9th-generation or newer motherboard is required; earlier Intel chipsets and AMD platforms do not support NVMe boot or operation through this card.

Will this adapter reduce the throughput of my existing PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe drive?

The adapter performs only a physical form conversion, so the drive keeps its full PCIe 3.0 x4 bandwidth with no speed change.

How can I confirm the Intel 750 SSD is recognised after installing the card?

The drive should appear in the motherboard BIOS and in Windows Device Manager as an NVMe controller with its full capacity shown.
