  • Three USB 3.0 ports expand connectivity for drives and peripherals
  • USB 3.0 hub delivers up to 5Gbps data transfer speed
  • Works with Windows, Mac OS and Linux operating systems
  • Compact 30cm cable and 11cm body suit portable use

Compact USB 3.0 Hub with Gigabit Ethernet

This adapter adds one RJ45 port and three USB 3.0 ports to any computer with a USB-A socket. It supports 10/100/1000Mbps wired networking and 5Gbps hub throughput. The 30cm cable and ABS body make it a portable accessory for ultrabooks, tablets and consoles. Hot-swap capability means no reboot is required.

Ideal for devices lacking a built-in LAN port

Users who need a wired connection on a MacBook Air, Surface, Nintendo Switch or similar USB-A ultrabook will benefit. The three downstream ports accept drives, keyboards, mice, webcams or other USB 2.0/3.0 peripherals. Buyers whose machines provide only USB-C cannot use this adapter directly, and anyone needing more than three extra USB sockets should consider other solutions.

Single RJ45 port at 1000Mbps over USB 3.0

The gigabit Ethernet controller delivers full 1000Mbps bandwidth when connected to a USB 3.0 host; speeds fall to USB 2.0 limits on older ports. Driver-free operation is listed for Windows 2000 through 10, Mac OS X and Linux. This single network interface is the decisive specification for compatibility.

Questions about this item

Will the USB-A plug or RJ45 port wear out from daily insertion cycles?

The adapter uses standard USB 3.0 AM and RJ45 connectors rated for thousands of mating cycles; no user-replaceable parts are inside the sealed ABS housing.

Does the 5 Gbps USB 3.0 hub bandwidth limit sustained 1000 Mbps Ethernet throughput?

The USB 3.0 link provides up to 5 Gbps shared bandwidth, so the Gigabit Ethernet port can run at its full 1000 Mbps rate even while the three hub ports are active.

How hot does the ABS case get during all-day operation at 1000 Mbps?

The adapter is rated for an operating temperature range of 0–85 °C and draws minimal power, so the plastic body stays warm but not hot during continuous use.
