USB 3.0 extender for distant peripherals

This 15 ft cable adds reach between a host port and USB devices such as webcams, gamepads, keyboards, mice, flash drives, hard drives or VR headsets. The male-to-female Type A layout lets you keep the computer in place while moving the peripheral to a more convenient spot. It suits home-office desks, living-room gaming setups and VR play areas where the stock cable falls short.

5 Gbps transfer rate with USB 2.0 backward

The link runs at up to 5 Gbps, ten times the 480 Mbps ceiling of USB 2.0, so large file backups finish quickly. It also negotiates down to USB 1.1 and 1.0 speeds for legacy gear. No driver installation is required on any supported operating system.

Gold-plated connectors

Gold-plated contacts resist corrosion while the braided PVC exterior and reinforced joints survive more than 15000 bend cycles. Multiple shielding layers suppress interference so signal integrity holds over the full 15 ft run. The cable draws up to 2 A for charging, keeping attached devices powered without a separate adapter.

Questions about this item

How does the 5 Gbps transfer rate perform when the cable is stretched to its full 15 ft length?

The cable is rated for 5 Gbps across the entire 15 ft run, which is ten times faster than USB 2.0 at 480 Mbps, so large file backups complete in seconds even at maximum extension.

What does the USB 3.0 Type-A interface limit in real-world use?

The USB 3.0 Type-A connectors cap throughput at 5 Gbps and charging current at 2 A, while remaining backward compatible with USB 2.0, 1.1 and 1.0 devices.

How much clearance does the braided jacket and reinforced joint need behind a desk or TV?

The braided PVC jacket and reinforced joint add minimal bulk, so the cable fits in tight spaces behind furniture without putting strain on the ports.
