USB 3.0 to VGA adapter for extra displays
The Vszerda adapter adds a VGA output to any Windows laptop or desktop that has a free USB 3.0 port. It drives an external monitor, projector or TV at up to 1920x1080 at 60 Hz without an external power supply or internal graphics card. Both extended-desktop and mirror modes are supported through standard Windows display settings. The device is driver-based and works on Windows XP, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 in 32-bit and 64-bit editions.
Upgrade from USB 2.0 video limits
On a USB 3.0 connection the adapter delivers full 1080p60, but when plugged into a USB 2.0 port the maximum resolution drops to 800x600 at 60 Hz. The jump is worth it only if the host machine provides a genuine USB 3.0 port and the user needs the higher resolution for office work, presentations or classroom projection. Systems that only have USB 2.0 will not benefit beyond basic cloning at the lower resolution. ARM-based Surface Pro tablets are not supported.
Sustained use on USB 3.0 host
The adapter draws power directly from the USB port and maintains a stable 1920x1080 60 Hz signal during extended sessions such as all-day office use or long presentations. No active cooling or external power brick is required, so thermal throttling is not a factor. Driver installation is a one-time process; after that the device enumerates automatically on each connection. Audio output must be routed manually in Windows Sound settings because the VGA connector carries only video.

Questions about this item
Does the adapter need an external power supply or internal card to work?
No external power or internal video card is required; the adapter draws power from the USB port and operates after driver installation.
Which USB port version on my computer is needed for the full 1920x1080 60Hz resolution?
A USB 3.0 port is required for 1920x1080 at 60Hz; connecting to USB 2.0 limits the output to 800x600 at 60Hz.
Will I need to reinstall the driver after a major Windows update?
Major Windows updates can remove the display driver, so you may need to run the installer again to restore the second monitor.
