Vszerda USB 3.1 Type-E to USB 3.0 19-pin header adapter
Converts a motherboard 19-pin USB 3.0 header to a front-panel 20-pin USB 3.1 Type-E connector for USB-C access
- Connect USB-C front-panel ports to older motherboards via 19-pin header
- Vertical Type-E Key-A connector fits tight case layouts
- No motherboard upgrade required to add USB-C access
- Data rate stays at 5 Gb/s, no 10 Gb/s conversion
- Motherboard header limited to 4.5 W, high-power devices may shut down
USB-C front-panel adapter
This adapter connects a USB 3.1 Type-E front-panel header to a motherboard USB 3.0 19-pin header. It lets builders add a USB-C port to cases that only provide the newer 20-pin connector. The board-mounted design fits vertically and works with any motherboard that exposes a standard 19-pin USB 3.0 header.
5 Gb/s limit and 4.5 W power budget
The link runs at USB 3.0 speeds and does not convert the 5 Gb/s interface to 10 Gb/s. Power comes from the motherboard header, which is rated at 4.5 W, so attached devices must stay within that envelope. Tablets or other high-draw USB-C peripherals that request more current can trigger a protective shutdown.
No cables or drivers included
The package contains only the adapter board itself; no internal cables, mounting hardware or software are supplied. Builders must route their own front-panel cable to the 20-pin female header on the adapter. Because no driver is required, the port appears to the operating system as a standard USB 3.0 connection.

Questions about this item
Will the 19-pin USB 3.0 header on my older motherboard limit the speed of the Type-E front-panel port?
The adapter does not convert the 5 Gb/s header bandwidth to 10 Gb/s, so the front-panel Type-E port will operate at USB 3.0 speeds.
How can I verify the adapter is functioning correctly after I install it?
Connect a USB-C device to the front-panel port; it should enumerate at USB 3.0 speeds and draw no more than the header's 4.5 W power budget.
Does the package include any cables for the motherboard header or the front-panel cutout, or must I buy them separately?
The adapter is a direct header-to-header converter; no extra cables are included, and none are required if your case already has a 20-pin Type-E front-panel connector.
