Thunderbolt 4 cable for high-speed workflows

This 1.6FT USB-C cable carries Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4 signals at up to 40Gbps. It delivers up to 240W Power Delivery 3.1 charging and drives a single 8K or dual 4K display. An integrated E-Marker chip manages power negotiation and signal integrity.

Suits Thunderbolt docks and 8K displays

The cable works with Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3 and USB 4 hosts, plus USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, Gen 2, Gen 1 and 2.0 devices. It is not for users who only need basic 5Gbps data or 60W charging, or who require a longer reach than 1.6FT.

40Gbps certified throughput decides fit

Rated bandwidth of 40Gbps supports PCIe tunnelling at 3000MB/s and 8K video at 60Hz. If the connected host or peripheral tops out below that speed, the cable’s full capability will not be used.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 1.6FT length or a longer cable for my setup?

The 1.6FT cable suits tight desk spaces or portable use with a dock. A longer cable adds reach for monitors further away but may increase clutter.

What does the 40Gbps rating deliver when I copy files between my MacBook and an external SSD?

Real-world PCIe transfers hit 3000MB/s, letting you move 14 hours of HD video or 25,000 photos in about one minute.

How does the Thunderbolt 4/3 interface limit charging and display output in practice?

Thunderbolt 4/3 caps power at 240W (48V/5A) PD 3.1 and video at one 8K/5K@60Hz or 4K@144Hz screen, or dual 4K@60Hz displays.
