  • Modbus RTU to TCP conversion integrates legacy serial devices

Vszerda W630 Industrial Serial Gateway

The Vszerda W630 converts RS232 and RS485 serial signals to Ethernet or 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi. It serves engineers who need to connect legacy industrial equipment such as PLCs or meters to modern IP networks for remote monitoring or control.

Dual Ethernet and Modbus RTU to TCP

Two Ethernet ports operate simultaneously as WAN and LAN, enabling network segmentation or redundancy. The gateway translates Modbus RTU frames to Modbus TCP and supports Modbus polling, but the 2.4 GHz radio limits wireless throughput to the 802.11 b/g/n maximum and does not support 5 GHz bands.

Check power and serial requirements before ordering

The unit accepts a wide 5-36 V DC supply via a terminal block or a DC adapter, so verify your available voltage source. Confirm that your serial devices use RS232 or RS485 interfaces and that your network infrastructure can accommodate 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or wired Ethernet connections.

Questions about this item

Should I use the RS232 or RS485 serial port for my Modbus devices?

The gateway provides both RS232 and RS485 interfaces on the same unit, so you can connect whichever serial type your equipment uses without choosing a different model.

What does the 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g/n rating mean for my wireless range?

It operates on the 2.4 GHz band using 802.11 b/g/n standards, giving typical industrial Wi‑Fi coverage through walls and machinery while staying compatible with most existing access points.

How do the two Ethernet ports work together in practice?

One port is fixed as WAN and the other can serve as LAN or a second WAN, letting the device maintain an upstream link and a local wired network at the same time.
