Four-port 10 GbE SFP+ adapter

This quad-port network card uses the Intel XL710-BM1 controller to deliver four 10 GbE SFP+ interfaces over a PCIe 3.0 x8 slot. It is intended for servers or workstations that need aggregated 40 Gb/s throughput for storage, virtualization or high-speed uplink duties.

Sustained throughput and offloads

The adapter supports a theoretical bidirectional rate of 80 Gb/s (40 Gb/s Tx and 40 Gb/s Rx) and includes hardware offloads for Geneve, VXLAN and NVGRE encapsulation. Ethernet Flow Director and DPDK optimisation keep small-packet processing efficient under continuous load across all four ports.

Low-power thermal profile

The XL710-based design is described as an exceptional low-power adapter, meaning it draws modest power and generates limited heat in a PCIe 3.0 x8 slot. Standard and low-profile brackets are included so airflow is not restricted in either full-height or slim chassis.
