Adds a 10 Gbps fibre link over a single LC connector using a PCI Express 2.0 x8 slot
The Intel E10G41BFSR is a single-port 10Gbps network card built on the Intel 82599ES controller. It connects through a PCI Express 2.0 x8 slot and provides one LC connector for short-range fibre. The adapter supports IEEE 802.3, 802.1Q, 802.1p, 802.3ad, 802.1ae and 802.1as standards for enterprise networking.
This card targets servers that require hardware-assisted I/O virtualisation with Single-Route I/O Virtualisation and Virtual Machine Device Queues. It also handles iSCSI, NFS and FCoE for converged storage traffic. It is not for deployments that need more than one physical port or that rely on copper twisted-pair cabling.
The adapter needs an x8 electrical link on a PCI Express 2.0 bus to deliver the full 10Gbps throughput. A slot wired for fewer lanes will limit bandwidth and may prevent the card from operating at its rated speed. Verify the motherboard or riser provides an x8 electrical connection before purchase.

The card uses a PCI Express 2.0 x8 interface and fits a compatible x8 or larger slot on the motherboard.
The adapter complies with IEEE 802.3 standards, so it will negotiate the highest common speed with the connected switch.
A steady link LED on the LC port indicates a valid 10Gbps connection over the short-range fiber cable.
