Compact Wireless Pen Tablet for Starters

The Wacom Intuos CTL4100WLK0 is a small Bluetooth graphics tablet built for beginners who draw, paint or edit photos on a computer. It ships with a battery-free 4096-level pressure pen, a USB cable and three bonus software licences. The active area measures 6.0 x 3.7 inches inside a 7.87 x 6.30 inch footprint.

Simple Setup with One Common Snag

Pairing over Bluetooth works on Windows 7, 8.1 or 10 and macOS 10.11 or later, while the included USB cable provides a wired fallback. The most frequent issue is forgetting to enable Bluetooth on the host or skipping the driver download, which leaves the ExpressKeys and pressure data inactive.

Pressure Sensitivity Decides Fit

The single specification that determines suitability is the 4096 pressure levels combined with 2540 lpi resolution. Artists who need finer gradation or a larger drawing surface will find the small active area and this sensitivity ceiling limiting.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 4096 pressure levels are registering correctly after pairing the tablet via Bluetooth?

Open your drawing software, select a pressure-sensitive brush, and make strokes from light to heavy; the line width or opacity should change smoothly across the full range without steps.

Which items ship in the box and which must be obtained separately for the CTL4100WLK0?

The box contains the tablet, battery-free Wacom Pen 4K, PVC-free USB cable with L-shaped connector, three extra standard nibs stored in the pen, and a nib removal tool; no other accessories are required for basic operation.

When should I choose the small 6.0 x 3.7 inch active area model over a larger size?

Choose this model if desk space is limited, you prefer a compact footprint of 7.87 x 6.30 inches, or you want a portable tablet that still provides 4096 pressure levels and four ExpressKeys.
