Walter Flap Disc 4.600

The Walter Surface Technologies 06A452 is a coarse-grit flap disc built for aggressive material removal on metal surfaces. It suits welders, fabricators and maintenance technicians who need a durable abrasive for grinding, blending and finishing tasks in industrial or automotive workshops.

Threaded 5/8 In. -11 Mount

This disc fits angle grinders with a standard 5/8 inch -11 threaded spindle. The nylon backing plate and Type 27 profile are rated for a maximum operating speed of 13,300 RPM. Exceeding this speed or using an incompatible arbor creates a safety hazard and will damage the disc.

Ceramic Grit 36/60 Abrasive

The ceramic grain blend in grit 36/60 determines the cut rate and finish quality. It is chosen for fast stock removal on hard alloys where a finer grit would load or glaze. Buyers who need a smoother surface for painting or a longer-life disc for high-volume production should select a different specification.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 36 grit or 60 grit version for heavy stock removal?

The disc is rated Grit 36, which is the coarse grade listed for aggressive material removal.

What does the 13,300 RPM maximum speed mean when the disc is mounted on my angle grinder?

It is the highest safe spindle speed; your grinder must not exceed 13,300 RPM or the disc could fail.

How does the 5/8 In.-11 threaded hole affect which grinders I can use?

The 5/8 In.-11 threaded hole fits standard angle grinders with that spindle size, securing the Type 27 disc directly.
