A 120-grit flap drum delivers a linear finish on stainless steel, steel and aluminium during the first finishing step
Walter COOLCUT 07J452 is an abrasive flap drum built for the initial finishing pass on stainless steel, steel and aluminum. Industrial-grade abrasive cloth delivers a consistent linear grain while removing light material. The drum maintains uniform results across variable rotational speeds. It is suited for metal-fabrication shops and maintenance teams that need repeatable surface preparation.
Replaces manual sanding blocks, non-woven hand pads and aggressive coated-abrasive belts that leave deep scratches or uneven grain. The jump is worth it when a project demands a clean, directional finish before final polishing or coating. Not for heavy stock removal, edge blending on thick welds or applications requiring mirror polish in a single step.
Mounts on standard drive arbors of compatible inline finishers; the 4-1/4 inch diameter matches common machine capacities. Frees the operator from changing grit sequences mid-job because the 120 grade handles graining and light cleanup together. Requires a tool with variable speed control to match the drum’s rated range. Dust extraction and personal protective equipment are still needed.

The drum is built for a standard 5/8 in arbor used on most linear finishers.
Slide it onto the arbor, snug the flange nut by hand, then give a final quarter-turn with the spanner — over-tightening crushes the cloth.
Replace it once the flaps wear down to the backing or the linear pattern becomes uneven on stainless steel.
