Purpose-built backplate

The Watercool HEATKILLER IV eBC backplate is designed specifically for the ASUS 2080Ti STRIX graphics card. It mounts to the rear of the card to supplement the HEATKILLER IV VGA water block. The black anodized aluminium construction adds structural rigidity while extending liquid cooling to the PCB reverse side.

Upgrade path and value

This backplate replaces the stock rear cover or empty backside of the graphics card. The jump is worthwhile when you already run a HEATKILLER IV water block and want to pull heat from the GPU and VRM areas on the PCB back. Precut thermal pads and isolating spacers are included to simplify the installation process.

Who it suits and who it does not

Custom-loop builders using a HEATKILLER IV block on an ASUS 2080Ti STRIX will gain extra cooling surface and a cleaner aesthetic. Builders with a different graphics card model or a water block from another brand may need to modify the supplied mounting hardware, which is not covered in the package. Air-cooled users or those without a compatible water block should look elsewhere.
