Triple-display docking station

This universal dock turns one USB-C or Thunderbolt 3/4 port into three external monitors plus wired networking and multiple peripherals. It is built for professionals who need extra screen space for coding, finance or content workflows on Windows, macOS or Chrome OS laptops. The included 130 W power adapter delivers up to 100 W upstream charging so the host laptop stays powered while the dock runs all connected devices.

DisplayLink 6350 chipset

The dock uses a DisplayLink 6350 chipset to drive dual 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz displays on the two HDMI/DP combo ports and a single 3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz display on the Alt Mode HDMI port when the host supports DP 1.4. With a DP 1.2 source the Alt Mode HDMI drops to 30 Hz while the DisplayLink ports keep 60 Hz. This split behaviour is the single specification that decides whether the dock matches a particular laptop's video capability.

Driver install and port limits

On macOS and Linux the DisplayLink driver must be installed before the extra monitors appear; Windows usually fetches it automatically. The Alt Mode HDMI port only works when the laptop's USB-C port supports video output, so laptops without DP Alt Mode lose the highest-resolution screen. Front-panel USB-C ports run at 10 Gbps while the three rear USB-A ports run at 5 Gbps, so cable choice matters for full speed.

Questions about this item

What does 4K@60Hz on the Alt Mode HDMI port mean for my monitor?

With a DP1.4 laptop source that port drives one display at 3840x2160@60Hz. With a DP1.2 source it drops to 3840x2160@30Hz.

How does the DisplayLink 6350 chipset affect the two HDMI/DP ports?

It enables dual 2560x1600@60Hz displays on Display 1 and Display 2 regardless of host video capability, but is not recommended for gaming-intensive use.

What physical connection does the dock need from the laptop?

A single full-function USB-C or Thunderbolt 3/4 port that supports video output for the Alt Mode HDMI port.
