5000, 2500 and 1000Mbps negotiated speeds

The Realtek 8126 controller negotiates at 5000, 2500 or 1000Mbps and falls back to 100 or 10Mbps where required. It works with existing CAT5E cabling so a cable upgrade is not mandatory. Jumbo frames up to 16KB and Wake-on-LAN are supported for NAS transfers and remote power-on.

Upgrade from integrated gigabit LAN

This card replaces a motherboard’s single 1000Mbps port when multi-gig switches or 2.5G and 5G ISP links are present. The jump is worth it when sustained transfers exceed one gigabit or when low-latency 2.5G and 5G tiers are provisioned. It does not add wireless capability or a second independent port.
