DisplayPort Alt Mode limits and OS differences

The dock requires a host port with DisplayPort Alternate Mode; plain USB-C data ports will not drive the video outputs. Single DisplayPort or HDMI reaches 3840x2160 at 30Hz, single VGA reaches 2048x1152 at 60Hz, dual displays run at 2048x1152 at 60Hz, and triple displays run at 1920x1080 at 60Hz. Windows supports MST for three independent screens; macOS mirrors the two external displays and does not enable VGA in multi-monitor setups.

85W pass-through charging requirement

Upstream USB-C PD 3.0 accepts up to 100W input and delivers up to 85W to the host laptop, reserving 15W for dock peripherals. An external AC adapter is mandatory and is not included in the package. The PD port handles power only and carries no data.
