What this adapter does

The WAWEIS 12V AC adapter HK-T112-A120 supplies 12 volts at up to 1.0 amp for devices that match the original Hon-Kwang part. It replaces the OEM charger with a 6.5 ft total cord length so the wall outlet can stay further from the desk.

Practical limits of the 12V 1A output

The unit accepts 100-240VAC at 50/60Hz worldwide but delivers a fixed 12.0V DC at 1000mA maximum. Equipment that needs more current, a different voltage or a proprietary connector will not work with this supply.

Installation and common issues

Connection is a simple plug into the device and the mains; no drivers or configuration are required. Problems usually arise when the tip polarity or barrel size does not match the original, or when the load exceeds the 1.0A rating and triggers the over-current protection.

Questions about this item

Is this 12 V 1 A adapter the right replacement for my Hon-Kwang HK-T112-A120 unit?

Yes, it matches the original HK-T112-A120 specification of 12 V 1.0 A and includes the 6.5 ft power cord.

What does the 12 V 1 A rating mean for my laptop when I plug this in?

It supplies up to 12 watts at 12 volts, so the laptop draws only the current it needs up to 1.0 A.

Does the 100-240 V 50/60 Hz input work on any mains supply worldwide?

Yes, the wide-range input accepts 100 to 240 V at 50 or 60 Hz, so it operates on mains power in most countries.
