Multi-Surface Degreaser

WD-40 Specialist Cleaner & Degreaser is a water-based, non-flammable solvent designed for workshops, garages and food-processing facilities. Its bio-solvent formula removes heavy grease and grime from aluminium, chrome, glass, plastic, rubber, stainless steel, granite, leather and painted surfaces without etching or corrosion.

Capacity and Headroom

The one-gallon jug provides ample volume for daily cleaning of automotive parts, tools, shop floors, industrial machinery and commercial appliances. It also feeds power washers and ultrasonic cleaners when rinse water goes to wastewater treatment; larger 5-gallon and 55-gallon containers exist for higher-throughput operations.

Standards and Compatibility

The formula meets U.S. EPA Safer Choice Standards and is 50-state VOC compliant with NSF A1, A2, A4, A8 and B1 registrations. It is non-corrosive, non-abrasive and low-odour, making it unsuitable only where a flammable aerosol solvent is specifically required.

Questions about this item

Will this degreaser harm the aluminium, copper or glass components I still have in my workshop?

The formula is designed to prevent aluminium and copper from corroding and to stop glass from etching, so it is safe on those surfaces.

How can I confirm the trigger spray is operating correctly after I fill it?

The trigger is described as durable and shatter-resistant; a steady, even spray pattern without leaks shows it is working as intended.

The one-gallon jug has a refill port — do I need to buy a separate funnel or a smaller spray bottle to use it?

No funnel is required because the jug includes a convenient refill port, and the 24-oz refillable trigger bottle can be topped up directly from it.
