Purpose & Audience

This 25 cm DisplayPort extension cable adds a 90° angled male connector to an existing DP link. It suits builders routing a signal behind a desk or inside a tight chassis where a straight plug would block adjacent ports.

Deciding Specification

The cable carries a DisplayPort 1.2 signal at up to 10.8 Gbps and supports 4K at 60 Hz (2560 × 1600). If your source or display requires a higher bandwidth standard, this extension will not pass the full feature set.

Sustained-Load Behaviour

A built-in conversion chip maintains signal integrity across the 20-pin interface without external power. The locking ports resist accidental disconnects during long sessions, and hot-plug capability allows device changes without a system restart.

Questions about this item

What does the 4K@60Hz rating mean when the cable is connected between my graphics card and monitor?

The cable supports a maximum resolution of 2560×1600 at 60Hz, delivering 4K video at that refresh rate over the 25cm link.

How does the DisplayPort 1.2 specification limit the video bandwidth in this extension?

DisplayPort 1.2 caps the video bandwidth at 10.8Gbps, which is the ceiling for the 4K@60Hz signal this cable carries.

What clearance does the 90° angled male connector need behind my display or graphics card?

The right-angled male plug extends 25cm from the port and requires enough rear space for the 90° bend to sit without stress on the connector.
