Converts a DisplayPort 1.2 source to an HDMI display supporting up to 4000 × 2000 resolution without external power
This adapter cable converts a DisplayPort 1.2 male output to an HDMI female input. It uses a built-in conversion chip that draws power from the source port so no external supply is required. The black cable is suited for connecting laptops, desktops or projectors to HDMI displays. It carries video signals up to a QXGA resolution of 4000 by 2000 pixels.
Buyers who need to send a DisplayPort source signal to an HDMI monitor, TV or projector will find this adapter fit for purpose. It does not work in the reverse direction, so users who must drive a DisplayPort display from an HDMI source should look elsewhere. The device also carries no audio return channel or Ethernet data, limiting it to basic video extension or mirroring tasks.
The converter comfortably handles common 4K resolutions at standard refresh rates for office work, media playback and presentations. It runs out of headroom when the source attempts resolutions above 4000 by 2000 or refresh rates that exceed the DisplayPort 1.2 bandwidth limit. Multi-stream transport for daisy-chained monitors is not supported by this single-link adapter.

Yes, the adapter is built for a DisplayPort 1.2 signal and converts it to HDMI using an internal chip that draws power from the port itself.
The adapter passes the source resolution through to the HDMI display; a 1080p monitor will simply show the image at its native 1080p without extra setup.
Open the display settings on your computer and verify that 4000 x 2000 appears as an available resolution and is currently selected.
